Picture of the Day - 3
Okay,. I'm not a fan of the honorary doctorate to begin with, but I can understand how a President or Sec. State might be given one because of their experience.
But, what did Laura Bush do to get a doctorate of law?
(And look at the eyes....)

It's an evil look.
Part stepford, part I'm getting away with it.

She got away with murder as a teenager and she was a stoner/drug mule in college. That's a long way for a coked up debutante to go and still leave all the bodies buried.

I hadn't heard the murder charge.

She ran over a classmate with her car when she was 17. Manslaughter, still rumor is he had raped her and it was 'payback'. She had a friend with her in the car at the time.

Wow, That's alot.
I'm surprised I hadn't run across that.

"Part stepford, part I'm getting away with it."
Perfect.
The thing is, people like the Bushs really think people are impressed with their purchased, coerced or crony-bestowed "honors." In fact I think it all serves to further separate them from the American public, not endear them to the public.
This is all shades of a petty dictatorship... What's next? Billboards and broadsides emblazoned with massive portraits of the Dear Leader?

Yeah. And I think they believe they deserve those honors.
They see no irony in it.
