Next quarter's numbers (post surge) will be interesting.

Yeah.
However, the way they define the metrics really matters.
For instance, most of the surge drop will likely be in death squad killings, but those don't seem to be reflected in this measurement.
But bombings are up.
Random small arms fire appears to be down.
So, it'll probably be down, but not as much as you would think.
