Made me laugh

The sub-blurb on the NYTimes frontpage made me laugh.

U.S. Strikes Suspected Al Qaeda Target in Somalia
The attack is the first military action in Somalia that Pentagon officials have acknowledged since 1993.

That key word "acknowledged" sums up so very much.
