Check out the LA Times on the coming "troop surge" - Casey's on board now and the admin is deciding between the "Forging a Moderate Sunni, Shiite, Kurd Coalition" (which means going after Sadr and occupying Sadr City) or the Keane/Kagan counterinsurgency plan (which means policing the civil war.)
Either way, more American casualties are coming and little to no change in conditions is coming. But at least Bush and McCain get to say they're doing something "strong and decisive" unlike those pussy Dems and that pussy Chuck Hagel and that pussy James Baker.

IT's reaching a real crisis point. If the Un is seriously about to up the pressure, the militias will have to rush their actions to get it completed before the UN officially comes in.
So, it may bet very bad very soon.
