My son's best friend came home from Iraq as a surprise. He walked in my house yesterday and I simply shouted praise. He's on the streets everyday and tells me things are getting worse where he is at and they aren't getting better. Unfortunately he has to go back until July.

You know what, I'm really glad you got that moment. That's great.
Please make it very clear to him that everybopdy here wants him to be as careful as he can.
My impression is that pretty much everywhere the US forces are is getting worse right now. There's a few pockets in Baghdad where things are staying the same, but outside of Kurdistan, I don't know anywhere US troops are stationed that's getting much better. Maybe along the Syrian or Jordanian border?
