Path to 9-11 is even worse than I had expected.
This DailyKos diary from New Zealand has pertinent clips from the New Zealand broadcast. It's bad. It's really bad. Take a look at these two clips as a starter. 1, 2.
There're 8 clips. If you're following this story, take a look.
Later: Apparently, this was the edited version.
(CBS is rerunning the 9/11 documentary put together by the Naudet brothers. It's raw but it's good.)

I'm not sure how it was managed (mostly because I've only been paying very light attention to this story) but it seems the GOP has managed to make Disney into it's propaganda arm.

The promotional materials for ABC News makes a big deal about trust. I wonder how this faux-umentary will affect their news credibility... and ratings?
I also wonder how much impact this faux-umentary will have on public opinion. From my admittedly biased perspective, it seems that the only exposure this will have in the public dialog is one of questionable integrity.

Kvatch, don't know. I talked to a friend in television last night and he pointed out that this might cause all kinds of problems for them down the line as the local affiliate licenses come up. It doesn't take too much of a coordinated effort to get them pulled and Disney has about 20 o and o's and then there's the independents.
For ABC, this thing is going to get worse. Their going to absorb a longterm cost on this thing that makes the decision very intentional.
EPM, I don't think the news division will be seriously undercut, but I do think it may change some minds on some underlying issues. Like the second clip I linked where the script has the hero bemoaning civil liberties. There are other more subtextual messages that I think may pass through although how much and to how many is an unknown.
And, I just watched the Naudet documentary. It really is amazing.
