Italian court still active on renditions
This is still part of the ongoing case about the "rendition" of Osama Moustafa Hassan Nasr from the streets of Milan. I don't think the Italians will be able to convincingly tell the EU they weren't involved.

(AFP)A top director and two other members of the Italian secret service have been arrested for their possible role in the 2003 abduction, allegedly by the CIA, of a Muslim cleric in Milan.

Silvio Berlusconi's government repeatedly denied authorising or having any role in the alleged CIA operation.
Prodi's lot are more interested in destroying Berlusconi than protecting Italy from the scandal.
But I guess they will win brownie points for taking some positive action, in Europe at least.
The US might not take kindly to all the proposed CIA arrests and extraditions.

The other thing I thought about adding was the role Sismi, and specifically this big dog Marco, played in distributing the Niger forgeries upon which the Iraq "uranium from Africa" claims were made..

It's a can of worms. But there is no love lossbetween Prodi and the US admin. If there is anything juicy to come out, including the Niger connection,we should see it.
