A stray thought on the 2006 midterms
One of the oddest possible outcomes of the 2006 midterm elections is that the Congressional seats and Senate offices most likely to flip from Republican to Democrat are the more moderate seats leaving the "redder" Republicans with more relative power within their party.
So, a shift to the left in the country could produce a Republican party further to the right.
Weird, huh?

We had Diebold problems this morning in my red county. Over half of them didn't work and as of Noon, there were still some down. Seems the card you put in wasn't reading..nice huh? I will post Francine's numbers on my blog before I go to bed if your interested.

Not strange at all. I'd bet that if we looked at the numbers from the so-called "Gingrich Revolution" we'd find the same, with the Democratic party moving somewhat to the left.

Just when you thought they couldn't go any farther to the right!

Thanks, Dusty. A little troubling about the machines though.
Kvatch, exactly, and the interesting thing is that shift damaged the Dems for a decade.
Lew, Sumo, it's just an observation/ theory. Doesn't mean it's true.

Mike, you are right - well let's say correct. It is a fair call.
Let's just hope they keep going and fall off the edge of their flat earth!
