As to a more general response, if the military gets to choose what you see, who you see, and who briefs, it's not reality.

Why is it that nearly every politician that goes an the 14 hour guided tour of Iraq, comes back a raving evangelist of The Surge. Are the black-ops guy dropping something in the water. I mean, the rah-rah cheerleading these guys do on return is just over the top (a la Tom Cruise on Oprah's couch). And when you realize they've been given what is essentially a virtual reality tour, akin to a Universal Studios theme park ride, it really boggles the mind. These people have no self respect or moral core.

It makes me sick sometimes to think of the utter detachment these people have from the monumental human tragedy they continue to perpetuate all for... what actually?
